Menopause Symptoms You Shouldn’t Ignore (Even If Everyone Says They’re “Normal”)
Just because it’s common doesn’t mean it’s OK
How often have you heard…
"That’s just part of getting older.”
"Everyone gets hot flushes .. just get used to it.”
"Mood swings? Yep, welcome to the club."
It’s easy to brush off menopause symptoms as something you just have to power through. But here’s the truth:
Common doesn’t mean normal.
And it definitely doesn’t mean you have to suffer in silence.
Why we downplay symptoms (and why that needs to stop)
Most of us weren’t taught what to expect from menopause .. so when symptoms hit, we second-guess ourselves. We blame stress, overwork, ageing or even our personality. Sometimes we just get used to feeling off.
But ignoring the signs your body’s giving you only adds to the overwhelm. You deserve to feel better .. and the first step is understanding what your body’s really trying to say.
What’s considered “common” in menopause?
These are the symptoms most women report .. but that doesn’t mean they’re something to just put up with:
🌀 Brain fog and forgetfulness
🧯 Hot flushes and night sweats
😓 Low energy or chronic fatigue
😔 Mood swings, anxiety, or low mood
🛌 Trouble sleeping
❤️🔥 Vaginal dryness or discomfort
🍫 Sugar cravings or blood sugar crashes
⚖️ Weight changes that don’t make sense
💢 Increased irritability or ragey feelings
But here’s the important bit…
Just because these things are common, doesn’t mean they’re inevitable .. or untreatable. They’re signs your hormones are changing and your body needs extra support.
And that support doesn’t always have to come from medication (though that’s a valid choice for many). Nutrition, lifestyle tweaks and the right kind of guidance can make a huge difference.
You don’t need to “wait it out”
It’s not weak to ask for help.
It’s not overreacting to want to feel better.
You deserve care, attention and personalised support.
Sometimes the hardest part is realising that what you’ve been living with doesn’t have to be your new normal.
