Hi, I'm Lesley...

I am a Registered Nutritional Therapist with a Post Graduate Diploma in Nutritional Science and Practice and involved in a research project to complete a MSc in Nutritional Science and Practice. I have a background in Education, specialising in Early Years.

I came to train as a Nutritional Therapist  for a number of reasons. I wanted to have the skills and knowledge to be able to cut through all the sensationalized and faddy information that is presented to the public. I wanted to find a way of eating that was personised to me and that would support me to reach my health goals, I have always have problems with my weight and after losing 10 stone with various fad diets I couldn't maintain this plus I had forgotten what normal eating was. But mainly I am fascinated with the whole subject and how food that we eat has a massive impact on not only our health but also our emotional wellbeing.

I have many interests and hobbies. You can guess cooking and baking are there at the top and I am always on a quest for the perfect vegan brownie or lemon polenta cake. I love exercise and completed my first Total Warrior last year at the age of 50. This year is the turn of the Great North Run. After spending so many years struggling to exercise it is an amazing feeling to be able to move and challenge my body. This has now become part of my daily routine but don't worry I won't be signing you up to be part of one of these mad challenges … well unless you want to!!
